Spices export Update – Ministry of Commerce- Apr-2024*

Jeera exports recorded its largest export volume in the month of April as exports jumped 129.3% y/y to 39,200 tons vs 17,100 tons last year same month.

Jeera exports surged by about 18% m/m. China is the largest importer of cumin in April at 14,900 tons vs 6,965 tons last year. UAE imported 5,500 tons of cumin vs 635 tons last year in April.

In the 2024 (Jan-Apr), exports are 97,550 tons, up 70% y/y for the same months (57,500 tons).

In Apr 2024, country exported about 14,100 of turmeric, down 28% y/y vs 19,600 tons last year. Exports are also down by 19% m/m.

In 2024 (Jan-Apr), exports are lower by 16.40% at 54,950 tons compared to 65,700 tons.

Coriander exports in Apr 2024 is pegged at 6,050 tons, down by 47% y/y. Moreover, exports are also down m/m by 27%.
