For the week of 2–6 November 2026 | Prepared 1 November 2026, 14:45 IST
The new week opens with Indian corporate earnings, global activity data and energy-supply risk competing for attention. The key message is not a single market direction: it is a packed calendar in which individual events could move equities, currencies, commodities and crypto differently. This is an educational market-research briefing, not a recommendation to buy, sell or trade any security, commodity or currency.
STARTING POINT: WHAT MARKETS ARE CARRYING INTO THE WEEK
India’s last completed cash session ended on 30 October with the Nifty 50 at 23,053.10 (+0.51%), the Sensex at 74,459.53 (+0.42%) and Bank Nifty at 54,686.95 (-0.41%). The contrast between a higher Nifty/Sensex and a weaker Bank Nifty is a useful reminder that the previous move was selective rather than uniform.
In crypto, Binance spot’s rolling 24-hour ticker checked on 1 November showed Bitcoin at $77,723.99 (+1.106%), Ether at $2,257.26 (+1.249%) and Solana at $96.20 (+2.330%). Those rolling changes are not calendar-week returns and can change continuously.
THE CALENDAR TO WATCH
Monday, 2 November: India PMI and ITC’s scheduled Q2 result are among the domestic focal points. Globally, the week begins with China manufacturing data, euro-area retail sales and US ISM manufacturing.
Tuesday, 3 November: The Reserve Bank of Australia decision and US political developments sit alongside Indian results activity. Currency markets may react quickly to any change in interest-rate expectations or risk sentiment.
Wednesday to Friday: The US labour-market sequence culminates in Friday’s nonfarm-payrolls release. The Federal Reserve calendar lists its October meeting minutes for 18 November, so they are not a 2–6 November event.
INDIA EQUITIES: EARNINGS WATCHLIST, NOT BUY/SELL CALLS
This results watchlist is driven by upcoming disclosures rather than a view on which shares should be bought or sold: ITC on Monday; State Bank of India and Bajaj Finserv on Tuesday; Apollo Hospitals on Wednesday; Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan, ONGC and Bharti Airtel on Thursday; and Hindalco on Friday.
For readers following these companies, the relevant public information is the reported numbers and management commentary: demand trends, margins, credit quality, revenue per user, commodity-cost exposure and capital expenditure. An earnings date is an event-risk marker, not an endorsement or a trade signal.
COMMODITIES: OIL AND GOLD
Oil remains a major cross-asset risk factor. Recent reporting described Brent futures around $115 a barrel late in the prior week after sharp moves tied to Middle East supply concerns. The outlook therefore depends heavily on verified supply, shipping and policy headlines—not a simple price forecast. Higher oil can feed into inflation and currency expectations; lower tension or improved supply visibility can pull the other way.
Gold’s week-ahead context is best read through real yields, the US dollar, risk appetite and energy-linked inflation concerns. Rather than projecting a target, readers should watch whether payrolls data and risk headlines alter those inputs.
FOREX: USE THE CALENDAR AS A RISK MAP
Forex Factory’s November calendar and other economic calendars flag China activity data, US ISM manufacturing and Friday US payrolls among the scheduled risk events. For USD pairs and USD/INR observers, the more useful question is whether actual data differs materially from consensus. The Reserve Bank of Australia decision is relevant to AUD crosses, while China data can affect risk-sensitive currencies and commodity sentiment.
This is not a forex trade idea. Currency markets can gap on news, and leverage can amplify losses. Check primary releases and the relevant exchange or regulated broker before acting.
TWO REASONABLE SCENARIOS TO MONITOR
Supportive scenario: earnings broadly validate expectations, high-impact data avoids a major downside surprise, and oil-supply fears ease. That combination could improve risk sentiment, though it would not guarantee gains across all assets.
Cautious scenario: oil or shipping headlines worsen, US data materially changes rate expectations, or earnings disappoint relative to expectations. That could increase volatility and widen the gap between sectors, currencies and commodities.
