Crypto Update: Bitcoin Holds Near $80,000 as Ether Lags in a Risk-Off Weekend

Bitcoin held near $80,300 in the 24 hours to Sunday, while Ether lagged. Binance public spot data showed BTC at $80,337.50 (+0.03%), ETH at $2,331.67 (-0.78%) and SOL at $100.77 (+0.10%) on 25 October 2026.

The latest move follows a choppy week. CoinDesk and The Block reported that Bitcoin’s midweek decline tracked a broader risk-off turn in technology shares, leaving crypto sensitive to macro headlines over the weekend.

ETF flows are also part of the backdrop. Cointelegraph and The Block reported fresh spot-Bitcoin ETF outflows on October 23. Flow data can change quickly and does not, by itself, determine the next market move.

Ethereum remains in focus after Cointelegraph reported a delay to the Glamsterdam Hoodi testnet launch on security grounds. The delay concerns development scheduling; it should not be confused with a confirmed mainnet disruption.

What to watch: whether Bitcoin holds the $80,000 area, whether Ether stabilises after its weaker 24-hour move, and whether risk appetite in broader markets improves when regular trading resumes.
