US Dollar Index Stalls Near 103 Ahead of Crucial US Inflation Print

Fed Delivers Hawkish

NEW YORK / LONDON — October 09, 2026: The US Dollar Index (DXY) consolidated in a narrow band on Friday, pausing near 102.50 as institutional desks balanced rising Treasury yields against cautious comments from Federal Reserve officials.

The greenback had posted strong gains following firmer energy prices and resilient consumer demand data. However, market participants are holding back aggressive positioning ahead of next week’s US Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, which will determine whether the Fed keeps benchmark rates elevated into year-end.
