Adani Green’s Solar Power Agreement
Adani Green has made headlines with its ambitious plans to supply 5 gigawatts (GW) of solar power from its Khavda project located in Gujarat. This initiative comes under a strategic agreement with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL), showcasing a pivotal step towards enhancing sustainable energy production in India.
Adani Power’s Thermal Energy Supply
In addition to its solar initiatives, Adani Power is set to deliver 1.49 GW of thermal power from a newly established ultra-supercritical thermal power project. This deal with MSEDCL marks another significant contribution towards meeting the energy needs of Maharashtra while balancing both renewable and traditional energy sources.
Innovations in Auto Parts and Green Hydrogen
On another front, Samvardhan Motherson is looking to strengthen its global presence by acquiring an 11% stake in Israel-based Ree Automotive for $15 million. This acquisition will facilitate the development of innovative automotive technologies.
Furthermore, Jindal Steel has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Jindal Renewables, focusing on the production of green hydrogen in its manufacturing units in Angul, Odisha. This collaboration aims to establish a production facility capable of generating 4,500 tonnes of green hydrogen annually, an important step towards sustainable steel manufacturing.
Lastly, Torrent Power is targeting an ambitious 10 GW of installed renewable capacity by the year 2030. Their plans include a significant 5 GW project in Dwarka and the development of a green ammonia plant capable of producing 1 lakh tonnes per year, financed by a substantial investment of Rs 64,000 crore.
