- UK-listed Vedanta Resources is the parent company of India-listed Vedanta Limited. The company’s rating reflects its weak capital structure and weak liquidity amid a period of consecutive large negative free cash flows. The company will still face liquidity problems during the next 24 months. Vedanta Resources’ Corporate Family Rating (CFR) has also been downgraded to Caa3 from Caa2.
- Trade setup: On January 9, the benchmark indices had made a strong opening after a day-long correction. But most of the gains were lost in the last hour of trading and finally closed with marginal gains due to profit booking at upper levels. Overall, the indices were seen trading within the previous day’s range. BSE Sensex closed at 71,386 with a gain of 31 points.
